JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Wednesday night didn’t provide an auspicious start to the Manchester Monarchs’ Florida road trip, falling 5-2 to the Jacksonville Icemen.

Jake Randolph provided Jacksonville with two goals in the first period, both off deflected shots from teammate Justin Woods.

Cody Fowlie also added two goals for Jacksonville, both coming early in the third period.

Jacksonville’s other goal came courtesy of Garrett Ladd, taking a backhand over the glove of Manchester netminder Charles Williams 13:51 into the second period.

Like Woods, Ladd also ended the contest with a pair of assists, as did Wacey Rabbit.

Austin Block and Sam Kurker provided Manchester’s goals on the night.

The Monarchs return to action Friday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m., when they take on the Florida Everblades at Hertz Arena in Estero, FL.
