MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police were assisting NH State Police with a “medical emergency,” on Interstate 293 Monday morning after a man reportedly jumped into traffic from the South Willow Street bridge, which extends over 293.

Initial reports indicated the person who jumped may have hit at least one vehicle on the highway below the bridge. The roadway was initially fully closed by NH State Police, and traffic was diverted onto the Exit 1 ramp at South Willow Street and back onto the highway from there. Police reported just before noon that the left lane was open to traffic.
Manchester police issued a Nixle alert at 10:40 a.m. asking motorists to seek alternate routes. Manchester Police and the crisis intervention team were at the scene.
