MANCHESTER, NH – The Hilton Garden Inn of Manchester presented the Friends of the Manchester Mounted Patrol with a donation of $2,000 on July 12 to help care for and outfit the mounted unit’s two horses.

Officer Fred Willis of the Manchester Police Department and his horse Valor were on hand to accept the check from Hilton Garden Inn General Manager Brenda Edwards.

The donation is in keeping with core value of Roedel Companies, the owner of the Hilton Garden Inn, to invest resources into the communities they serve. This is the first of an annual donation Hilton Garden Inn will make to a local organizations.

The Friends of Manchester Mounted Patrol is a non-profit group that helps subsidize the unit. The organization funds the care of Valor and partner General Stark, including food, equipment and veterinary treatment. Willis estimated it costs $10,000 a year to care for each horse.

The presentation was part of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Spotlight on Business event.
