Face It TOGETHER, based in Sioux Falls, SD, is a nationally focused nonprofit with a mission to get alcohol and drug addiction sufferers well.  Its work marries social mission with entrepreneurship and business innovation. Through its affiliates, the organization engages healthcare, employers and other key stakeholders to remove barriers to seeking help and to improve lifelong addiction care across a community, so more people get well and stay well.

The Hope for New Hampshire Recovery board of directors unanimously supported affiliation with Face It TOGETHER in order to expand and strengthen their addiction support programs and services in the wake of the state’s growing opioid crisis.

Face It TOGETHER provides its affiliates with a comprehensive road map and the tools and resources needed to build a community-wide chronic disease care model for addiction. This includes an innovative Workplace Initiative, designed to help addiction sufferers via their employers; a research-based peer recovery coaching program; and public education campaigns, among others. Face It TOGETHER’s programs are data-driven and supported by a technology-based evaluation program.

“We are excited to merge our strengths with the proven assets of Face It TOGETHER to reach far more people and help dramatically more become survivors of this disease. We’re also looking forward to being a part of a growing movement to fundamentally change how our communities understand and treat addiction,” said Melissa Crews, Board Chair of Hope for New Hampshire Recovery.

“Our Affiliates are the lifeblood of our work, making change happen in a community. In New Hampshire, far too many are suffering from this devastating disease. We’re looking forward to working with our partners in New Hampshire to upend the status quo and help families in the brave fight against drug and alcohol addiction,” said Kevin Kirby, CEO of Face It TOGETHER.

Additional announcements will be made in the coming weeks about new programs and services that will be offered in New Hampshire as part of this partnership.

Face It TOGETHER is creating a national network of Affiliate organizations to implement the successful Face It TOGETHER model first developed in their pilot market of Sioux Falls, SD. In addition to New Hampshire, they expect to open Face It TOGETHER Affiliates in 2016 in Fargo, Bismarck and Grand Forks, ND; Bemidji, MN; and Waco, TX.

The work of Face It TOGETHER has been recognized by Ashoka, the world’s leading network of social entrepreneurs, and the Bush Foundation, which awarded Face It TOGETHER Sioux Falls the Bush Prize for Community Innovation in 2014.
