
HOOKSETT, NH — A somber ending to what began as a missing person case in Pembroke unfolded Wednesday, after the body of Tre Rouse, 24, of Pembroke was found submerged in his vehicle. Police do not suspect foul play.
According to information provided by Pembroke Police:
“The investigation into the whereabouts of Tre Rouse led Police to the area of Lambert’s Park boat launch in Hooksett. Pembroke Police received information based on global positioning system (GPS) via cell phone apps of Tre’s last known location. Police followed the coordinates leading to the boat launch. NH Fish and Game and the Hooksett Police were called. NH Fish and Game were able to confirm the vehicle that Tre was operating was in the Merrimack River in about 24-feet of water. The Hooksett Police secured the park overnight until recovery efforts could be mounted.
“On Dec. 5 at 9 a.m. NH Fish and Game, Pembroke Police and the Hooksett Police resumed the search of the Merrimack and recovered Tre Rouse, who was deceased inside his vehicle. There does not appear to be any foul play at this time however the investigation will continue.
“Police would ask that the families be left alone to deal with this terrible situation.
“The Pembroke Police want to thank all who assisted in this investigation and all that shared and posted Tre as missing in hopes to have a better outcome. A special thanks to the NH Fish and Game and the Hooksett Police Department for all that they did.
The search for Tre Rouse was announced Nov. 17 when Pembroke Police put out notice that the family was seeking help in finding him. Police sought information regarding his whereabouts. He had last been seen in Allenstown at around 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 and was thought to be driving a Jeep. Police noted that Tre was autistic.
In the aftermath of the recovery of Tre Rouse’s body, Hooksett Police Chief Janet Bouchard also issued a statement Thursday morning:
“On Dec. 4, 2019, the Hooksett Police Department was contacted by the Pembroke Police Department regarding a missing person from their town. Pembroke had received information that the missing 24-year-old male may be in the Merrimack River in Hooksett. Hooksett and Pembroke Police were assisted by the New Hampshire Fish and Game who, using underwater equipment, located the missing man’s vehicle submerged in approximately 24-feet of water near the boat launch in Lamberts Park.
“The area was secured overnight.
“This morning, a dive team from the NH Fish and Game located the man’s body inside of the vehicle. His body was recovered. An autopsy will be performed on Friday December 6.
“The Police do not expect foul play was involved and are not releasing the male’s name until family notifications have been made. The Hooksett Police Department would like to thank the members of the NH Fish and Game Department for their assistance.”
