HOOKSETT, NH – On February 2, 2017 at approximately 3:42 p.m., the Hooksett Police Department responded to the Fred C. Underhill School for a report of gun being pointed in the direction of a school bus by one of three high school-age juveniles.

The school was placed in lockdown as Hooksett Police responded. Once in the area officers quickly located the three juveniles and a black replica firearm was recovered.

“This situation is clearly very serious but we are thankful to the school staff for acting quickly so no students were ever in any danger” Chief Peter Bartlett said. “Hooksett officers did a fantastic job locating these individuals and determining very quickly the pistol was not a real gun” said Bartlett. “I have been in touch with Hooksett School Superintendent Dr. Littlefield and we are working together to make certain parents are informed correctly regarding this incident” Chief Bartlett said.

The Hooksett Police Department is encouraging parents to talk to their children regarding this incident and to contact the school staff and or Hooksett Police with any questions. The names of those involved will not be released due to their age.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information pertaining to this is asked to contact the Hooksett Police Department at 624-1560.
