MANCHESTER, NH – A Blucher Street resident fought off an armed burglar early Wednesday morning, wrestled his gun from him and held him at bay until police arrived.
Police detectives are still working to identify an accomplice, who got away.
Gabriel Tirado, 38, of Manchester, was arrested by Manchester Police Nov. 12, charged with burglary, reckless conduct, and criminal threatening.
Police were called to 58 Blucher Street for a possible home invasion just before 1 a.m.
According to police Tirado allegedly entered the home of the victim while armed with a handgun. According to the police affidavit, Tirado and an unknown accomplice allegedly entered the home of the victim at 12:40 a.m. and allegedly threatened the victim and his family.
The victim told police he immediately wrestled the handgun away from Tirado and a violent struggle ensued. During the altercation, the victim retrieved the handgun and was able to subdue Tirado, who ultimately received injuries as a result of the incident. Tirado was transported to Catholic Medical Center and treated for his injuries.
The home invasion does not appear to be random, police said, but they have not determined how the victim and suspect know each other.
Tirado will be arraigned at the hospital due to his injuries, which  police say are non-life threatening.
