Homeless man faces charges after found squatting in basement of downtown offices

MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police officers responded to 1000 Elm Street at 7:40 a.m. on Feb. 6 for a burglary call in the basement of Hampshire Plaza. Officer Andrew Choi located Jefferson Kimball, 25, no fixed address, inside of the lower level of the office building.

Officer Choi determined Kimball illegally entered the property the previous night. Choi located a sleeping bag, candles, and other items indicating Kimball was “squatting” inside the basement of the office building.

Kimball was charged with burglary and convicted felon in possession of a deadly weapon after they located a knife on him. He was released on $3,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on February 22, 2018.
