MANCHESTER, NH — Wayne Joshua Barker, 18, homeless, was arrested Sept. 1, charged with felony attempted robbery based on the following police narrative.

On Thursday September 1, 2016, at approximately 1:20 a.m. officers responded to the area of South Main and Winter streets for an attempted armed robbery. The victim reported while walking home, he was approached from the rear by two men. One of the men removed what was believed to be a black semi-automatic handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the victim. The man ordered the victim to hand over his money, wallet and cell phone. The victim did not have any money or wallet on him, which resulted in the men fleeing.

Responding officers located two men at Sweeney Park who fit the description provided by the victim of the would-be robbers, identified as Barker and a 17-year-old juvenile.

Barker is charged with attempted robbery. He was scheduled to be arraigned  September 2 in the 9th Circuit District Court in Manchester. The juvenile was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.
