It’s Oct. 15, 2017, here are this week’s varsity athletic highlights from Manchester Central,. Manchester Memorial, Manchester West, Trinity and Derryfield Academy.

Central

If the Little Green wanted a postseason berth, they needed a win on Friday night. That did not happen.

Although Central wasn’t eliminated from the North Conference title, Goffstown is now in the driver’s seat after defeating the Little Green 28-12 at Gill Stadium.

The girls’ soccer team fared better this week, growing their winning streak to 13 games after a 5-0 victory against Merrimack and a 2-0 win against Nashua South.

And although it wasn’t a win, the girls’ volleyball team took their first set of the year in a defeat to Nashua South on Friday.

Memorial

At 5-7, the boys’ soccer team currently just above the cutoff for playoff qualification, helping their case with a 3-2 victory against Exeter on Friday.

The girls’ soccer team is also on the cusp of qualification, which may come down to a season ending contest against Merrimack on Wednesday.

West

An already bad season got even worse for Blue Knights football on Saturday afternoon, losing 50-0 on the road against playoff contender Hollis-Brookline.

This year, West has given up at least five touchdowns in every game this year other than their sole victory against Pembroke.

The boys’ soccer team is doing slightly better, hanging on to the edge of the playoff qualification line thanks to a 5-4 win against Trinity on Tuesday. They finish the season against Goffstown and Kearsarge this week.

Trinity

The girls’ soccer team is looking to end its season on a high note, earning a 4-1 win against West on Tuesday followed by a scoreless draw against Plymouth on Thursday.

They conclude their season on the road against Kingswood this Tuesday followed by a trip to John Stark on Thursday.

Derryfield

The boys’ soccer team has one more game standing between them and perfection following  a 2-1 win against Gilford on Friday.

They host Monadnock at 6 p.m. on Thursday at home.
