MANCHESTER, NH –  Haircuts 4 Hope is a fundraiser to benefit the family of Janesa Negron, a Memorial High School freshman who has battled her way back from cancer.

On May 22 a Pantene Beautiful Lengths (PBL) hair drive to benefit women and children suffering from cancer treatment will be held at Memorial High School. All monetary proceeds will go to the Negron family.

Janesa Negron is a freshman at Memorial. She was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia when she was in the 7th grade. Before she was diagnosed, Janesa was a cheerleader and an active young lady, that is, until her diagnosis put her life on hold.

After battling with the cancer and many unpleasant chemotherapy treatments for over two years, Janesa is finally in remission and starting to feel like her old self again. Of course, the battle to stay in remission will be one that she has to fight for the rest of her life.

The MMHS students would like to honor Janesa through this hair drive and show her that she is not alone in her fight against cancer.

Through the help of Arcaydia Salon and Day Spa, Michael’s School of Hair Design, and the MST cosmetology students, ladies and gentlemen can donate 8 inches (minimum) of their hair to contribute to the making of a wig. They may also pledge to raise money in lieu of a hair donation. Students will sign up in the cafeteria to attend the drive during a free period of the day.

Hair must be clean on the day of the cut, and it must be free of bleach, permanent dyes, and/or an abundance of grey.

In return, Panera Bread breakfast, Olive Garden lunch (volunteers), Puritan Back Room dinner, homemade baked goods, haircuts, raffle baskets and gift cards, hair straightening, a free T-shirt, before-and-after photo booth, decorations, music, and lots of great company will make for a party atmosphere for all.

Come support the Negron family and join us in spreading hope one ponytail at a time!
