Hair salon owner and son, 5, confronted by armed robber

CruiserMANCHESTER, NH — A salon owner was alleged robbed by an armed gunman as she and her 5-year-old son were preparing to close up shop on Feb. 7.

Manchester Police Officer George Mallios responded to Mode Salon, 1711 South Willow St., at 5:10 p.m. on Saturday for an armed robbery call.

The owner, who was not identified by police, said a man she didn’t know walked into the hair salon as she and her son were about to leave. 

The robber, described as a  slender Asian male between 5-foot-9 and 6-feet tall, came in to the salon which was closed for business and demanded cash from the owner.

The owner told police the robber was dressed in all black with a black full face neoprene winter hat and may that he pulled up his shirt and displayed a weapon as he demanded cash from her.

Police seek any tips or information from the public who can call the Manchester CrimeLine at 624-4040.  If your information leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of a subject, then you may be eligible for a cash reward.
