NASHUA, NH – In the fall of 2016 Great American Downtown conducted a well-received pilot music festival, in partnership with the City of Nashua. We are very excited to announce plans are underway for a three festival series in 2017.

The first of the series will be the inaugural Nu Muse Festival, a celebration of inspired experimentation in music and the arts. The festival will be held on May 6, 2017, from 1 – 10 p.m., on Main Street in Nashua, and will be free to the public. Nu Muse will feature an eclectic variety of what the national music scene has to offer, with featured sets by Consider the Source (Middle Eastern Sci-Fi Fusion), The Grand Slambovians (Pink Floyd meets Roots Americana), Bella’s Bartok (Exuberant Gypsy Punk), Arc Iris (Experimental Dream Pop), Billy Wylder (World Indie Rock), I/O (Post Rock) and Mammal Dap (Groovy Live Band Electronica).

The event, expected to draw as many as 3,000 to Nashua’s Historic Downtown,  will also feature the roll out of the Nashua Street Pianos, City Arts Nashua’s Comeback Kitchen Table temporary public art installation, street performers, an arts and artisans market, food trucks and more!

This will be the first of a three-festival series designed to offer a wide variety of experiences over the course of 2017, followed by the Merrimack Valley Battle of the Bands on July 22, and the New England Roots Festival presented by The River Casino on Sept. 30.
