SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. – Only a power play goal from Thomas Flack prevented Southern New Hampshire University from a shutout as the Penmen left the Green Mountain State on Saturday with a 3-1 victory over St. Michael’s College.

Junior DJ Goldstein (Wareham, Mass.) scored twice in the third period, following a first period SNHU goal from freshman Phil Heisse (Overland Park, Kan.) Freshman Travis Quigley (North Babylon, N.Y.) and senior Joseph Berardi (Burlington, Mass.) each assisted on both of Goldstein’s goals.

Junior Kurt Gutting (Weymouth, Mass.) finished with 34 saves to improve to 7-3-3 in net this season for the Penmen.

SNHU returns to the ice on Tuesday, January 29 (7:00 p.m.) when it plays host to Assumption College at The Ice Den in Hooksett.
