MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas announced on March 17 that he is running for Governor of New Hampshire.
“I am proud of all that we have achieved in Manchester, and excited by the opportunity to bring my executive experience and leadership to the State House in Concord. As Mayor I have worked hard to improve city infrastructure, foster an environment where economic development can grow and thrive, bring new educational opportunities to our students and worked to keep Manchester safe,” said Gatsas in a statement posted on his campaign Facebook page.
“We need strong leadership in Concord to combat the deadly opioid epidemic, to reduce the burdening health care costs affecting so many New Hampshire families, to create a climate for increased economic development and innovation and to return control of our schools to the local communities,” Gastsas said.
A “Friends of Ted Gatsas” Political Committee has been launched with AutoFair CEO Andy Crews serving as Chairman.
Secretary of State Bill Gardner’s office said there is not yet an official list of candidates who have formally announced a run for governor in 2016.
