WHERE WE STAND

The Monarchs enter the weekend with the most points in the Eastern Conference (11 pts.), one point ahead of the Thunder and Atlanta Gladiators.

LEADING THE WAY

Matt Leitner (1g, 7a) currently leads the Monarchs in scoring to begin his second professional season. Leitner is followed by Cory Ward (4g, 3a), Daniel Ciampini (3g, 4a) Justin Agosta (2g, 5a) and David Kolomatis (1g, 6a), all with seven points.

OFFENSIVE DEFENSEMEN

The Monarchs have received serious scoring form the blue line this season, as Kolomatis, Agosta and Alex Privitera are all within three points of ECHL-leading scoring defenseman, Josh Atkinson (ATL). Agosta and Kolomatis are within one point and Privitera (5 pts.) is just three points shy, playing in two fewer games. Privitera is currently the only defenseman in the ECHL with a shorthanded goal, and Agosta is in a first-place tie amongst all defensemen with a +7 rating.

IT HAD TO HAPPEN

The Monarchs handed the Thunder their first regulation loss on the young season Tuesday night in Glens Falls to vault into first place in the North Division. The Monarchs have also taken four points out of their two games inside the Glens Falls Civic Center this season.

STREAKING

Sam Brittain is riding a three-game winning streak heading into the weekend. After being assigned to the Monarchs by the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL), the netminder has posted the ECHL’s 10th best GAA (2.33).

IF YOU’RE NOT FIRST

The Monarchs have been a perfect 4-0-0-0 when scoring the first goal of the game. Adirondack enters the weekend nearly flawless, entering with a 4-0-0-1 record when lighting the lamp first.
