MANCHESTER, NH – Francis E. Manning, 65, a lifelong resident of Manchester. died May 10, 2017 after a courageous batter with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Manchester on May 7, 1952, he was the son of Francis J. and Rita (Callahan) Manning. He graduated Bishop Bradley, class of 1970, and attended Saint Anselm College. He had been employed by Eversource (formerly PSNH) for more than 40 years.
Frank loved to spend time outdoors hiking, biking, kayaking, snowshoeing and fishing. He was simply a great guy and a talented crafter who will be long remembered for his resourcefulness. He spent a full year building his first kayak and was referred to as “MacGyver” by his family. Above all else, he will be remembered as a loving, generous and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be greatly missed.
He was predeceased by his parents, and sister, Susan Manning Harris.
Family members include his wife of 41 years, Joan (Morin) Manning of Manchester; his sons, Graham T. Manning and wife Jennifer of Manchester; Casey P. Manning of Manchester; his grandchildren, Ryan and Lillian Manning; a brother, Thomas Manning and wife Nancy of Manchester; a sister, Kathleen Sullivan of Concord; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St. will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Raphael Church. Committal prayers will follow in the chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
