Former #MHT dance studio owner earns Illinois university post

MANCHESTER, NH – Lara Little, founder of the former City Dance Studio on Elm Street, has been named a dance instructor at Western Illinois University’s Department of Theatre and Dance, beginning in August 2015.

Little was raised in the New England area, where she trained and danced with the Greater Milford Ballet Company under the direction of Georgia Deane and Laura Young, former principal dancer of Boston Ballet. After graduating from Dean College, in Franklin, Mass., with a bachelor’s degree in dance, she became the owner and artistic director of City Dance.

Little’s students have been accepted to The Ailey School, Philadanco II, and Boston Conservatory.

Little holds a master’s degree in dance education from NYU, a certificate in ballet pedagogy from American Ballet Theatre and is an American Ballet Theatre (ABT) certified teacher of the levels of primary through seven.
