MANCHESTER, N.H. – After a difficult series against the Harrisburg Senators, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats picked up where they left off when the Reading Fightin’ Phils came to town.

It might not have been the 16 runs New Hampshire put up against Reading on Sunday in Pennsylvania, but the Fisher Cats easily won on Thursday with a 9-1 victory.

Every Fisher Cat had a hit except for catcher Alberto Mineo, with Forrest Wall, Nash Knight, Vinny Capra and Logan Warmoth each getting two.

Wall drove in two runs as well off a home run during what became a seven-run third, with the Fisher Cats also getting two RBI from Capra and Warmoth as well as Kevin Smith and Christian Williams.

Only a first-pitch Josh Stephen home run in the ninth kept the Fisher Cats pitching staff from the joint shutout. Three of Stephen’s six home runs this year have now come off Fisher Cat pitching.

Justin Dillon rose to 3-2 in Eastern League play, submitting his third-straight quality start, this time lasting six innings

The loss went to Gustavo Armas, falling to 0-1. He allowed eight runs off eight hits and three walks, striking out two.

The series continues on Friday, as Hector Perez (6-4, 4.76 ERA) takes the mound for New Hampshire against a Reading pitcher yet to be named.
