On Friday night, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats won their sixth series opener in a row, with a 5-1 victory over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies under the lights at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Ryan McBroom’s sacrifice fly in the first brought home Richard Urena, putting New Hampshire ahead, and the Fisher Cats’ pitching would help keep New Hampshire ahead.
With the technical exception of David Thompson’s solo shot in the ninth, no Rumble Pony batter advanced past second base during the contest, allowing just six hits on the night to Binghamton in total.

Winning pitcher Sean Reid-Foley (4-5) gave up four of those hits, striking out five and walking two through seven innings of work.
So far, Reid-Foley hasn’t posted another seven-inning game this season, although he threw five more pitches during a 6 2/3 inning appearance in Reading last month.
At the plate, Harold Ramirez went 3-for-3 with a double and Gunnar Heidt added a three-run homer in the eighth. New Hampshire’s other run came from a wild pitch in the seventh, allowing Andrew Guillotte to advance from third.
Marcos Molina (0-2) got the loss for Binghamton, giving up eight hits during his seven-inning outing, striking out three and walking two.
The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, with the first pitch of Game One scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
