Since the game debuted in 1999, it has put the best prospects from the U.S. versus the best from elsewhere in the world as a hopeful preview of All-Star Games to come.

Aaron Hill became the first Fisher Cat to be named to the Futures Game in 2004, with last year’s game including 2017 Fisher Cat Danny Jansen and 2018 Fisher Cat Bo Bichette.

Pearson, the 28th overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft, is ranked No. 41 among all prospects in baseball by MLB.com. Pearson is also listed as the top pitching prospect in the Blue Jays organization.

The 22-year-old from Odessa, Florida is 3-1 with a 1.89 ERA in 14 starts this season between Advanced-A Dunedin and New Hampshire. With the Fisher Cats, he’s posted a 2.70 ERA while striking out 31 batters in 26.2 innings.

In Pearson’s last nine Double-A innings, he’s allowed nothing but an infield single with no walks and nine strikeouts.

Pearson went to the 7-day disabled list on June 20, with his innings limited this year following a serious arm injury in 2018.
