Runs in three of the final four innings were not enough as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats dropped the final game of their series of the Hartford Yard Goats on Sunday, 6-4.
Hartford got off to an early start, as a passed ball in the bottom of the first helped Max White come across the plate for the Yard Goats’ first run.
Correlle Prime brought Ashley Graeter home later in the inning and the Yard Goats collected two solo homers in the fifth, one from Graeter and one from Drew Weeks.
New Hampshire and Hartford traded runs in the sixth, with the Fisher Cats kicking off the seventh with a Andrew Guillotte homer to left center field.
The Fisher Cats would add another run in the seventh, and Guillotte’s double in the eighth brought New Hampshire back within a run. However, Omar Carrizales’ second RBI of the game later that inning would put the game out of reach.
Jon Harris (2-5), scattered six hits in five innings of work, walking three and striking out two in the loss. Meanwhile, Parker French (5-4) picked up his second win of the year against the Fisher Cats, giving up four hits over six innings, walking three and striking out one.
Shane Broyles recorded the final five outs to get his second save of the year.
Guillotte and Michael DeLaCruz each had a pair of hits for the Fisher Cats. Graeter got a pair of hits as well for Hartford while Omar Carrizales contributed three hits for the Yard Goats.
The Fisher Cats return to Manchester on Tuesday for a three-game set against the Erie SeaWolves. Connor Greene (2-4, 3.66 ERA) takes the mound for New Hampshire, no scheduled starter has been announced yet for Erie.
