MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Hartford Yard Goats finished their four-game series with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Sunday, taking a 7-1 victory before departing the Granite State.

Hartford limited New Hampshire to just five hits on the day, three of which came in the fourth as the Fisher Cats took what was their only run on the day.

The Yard Goats held a 2-1 lead at that point, following runs in the first and earlier in the fourth, but it was a safe enough lead given the sheer dominance of Hartford starting pitcher Rico Garcia.

During his seven innings of work, Garcia allowed just two baserunners outside of the fourth, striking out seven Fisher Cats in total.

A trio of sixth-inning hits, capped off by Alan Trejo’s triple, provided another two runs for the Goats to build that cushion. Trejo added another RBI in the eighth and Hartford added another two runs in the ninth.

Colton Welker almost singlehandedly outhit the Fisher Cats, ending the day 3-for-5 with an RBI, as eight of nine Goats finished with at least one hit on the day.

Zach Logue was the loser, falling to 2-2 in what was a six-inning performance. Garcia climbed to 3-0 with the win.

The Fisher Cats now head to Portland for a three-game series with the Portland Sea Dogs.
