MANCHESTER, NH – A Goffstown man arrested for DUI was arrested again, two hours later, after he refused to leave the police station when his ex-girlfriend came to bail him out. He was charged with assault the second time around, after pushing his girlfriend during an argument inside the lobby of the police station.

Officer Max Rahill responded to the 400 block of Mammoth Road for complaints of a truck driving erratically at 2:50 a.m. on Jan. 20. He located a truck matching the description on the 600 block of Mammoth Road and watched it turn on to Wellington Road.

The operator almost struck a curb before continuing on to Bridge Street. He stopped the Chevrolet pick-up truck and spoke with the operator, identified as Terry Driscoll, 59, of Goffstown. The officer noted Driscoll had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath while he spoke with him. Driscoll was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor.

He was transported to police headquarters and later released on a white summons. However, when his ex-girlfriend arrived to pick him up he refused to vacate the building. Instead, he became irate while yelling profanities inside of the police lobby. At approximately 4:45 a.m. officers entered the front lobby to speak with Driscoll, who continuously refused to leave the building. His ex-girlfriend made several unsuccessful attempts to remove him, but he pushed her away. The officers placed him into custody and charged him with simple assault (domestic) and disorderly conduct.

He appeared in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on January 20, 2016.
