MANCHESTER, NH – Police are investigating a report of a stolen firearm on Saturday, taken from an unsecured vehicle on Kearsarge Street.

At about 9 p.m. police responded to a call from a resident of Kearsarge Street who told police that he was packing his jeep with supplies to go camping, including a Ruger 9mm handgun.

The victim told police that he left the rear hatch to the jeep open as he went back inside his residence to get more supplies. When he returned to his vehicle a few minutes later the gun was missing.

Police are using this as a reminder to residents to never leave a firearm unattended or unsecured inside a vehicle.
