MANCHESTER, NH — Fire officials say a series of fire calls on Amory Street starting Wednesday night into Thursday morning are under investigation as suspicious.

Just before 11 p.m. on Jan. 11 crews responded to a fire outside of 541 Amory St. in the area of John and Son’s Tire Co. A small pile of clothing/garbage was ignited in the driveway area.

Less than 90-minutes later at the street box at the corner of Amory and Boutwell streets was “maliciously” pulled and witnesses reported multiple youths fleeing the area prior to MFD arrival.

Approximately three hours later at 3:36 p.m. a single 911 call reported a tractor-trailer used for storage on fire at 541 Amory St. Units from Amory Street and Merrimack Street arrived to find a box trailer used to store recycled tires well involved in fire. The fire was brought under control in about one hour and there were no injuries.

Damage from the fires was estimated at about $10,000.

All three events are considered extremely suspicious and anyone with further information is advised to contact the MFD Fire Prevention Bureau or the Manchester Police Dept. 603-669-2256.
