MANCHESTER, NH – A fire Saturday at a Merrimack Street residence has been ruled an arson.
On Dec. 27 fire companies responded to 234 Merrimack St. to find fire and smoke coming from a first-floor apartment of the abandoned apartment house. Firefighters extinguished the fire and searched for occupants. Damage was limited to the area of origin.
Based on the evidence collected from the scene and witness statements, the cause of the fire has been ruled an arson. Police and fire officials are now working to identify those responsible for the fire and resulting damage.
