Felon with loaded rifle charged with illegal possession after reports of shots fired in the woods

MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police responded to the wooded area behind 232 Eastern Avenue at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Oct. 18 after multiple gunshots were reported by residents. Officer Aaron Stone observed a lone male with a rifle standing in the footpath of the woods located behind the Eastern Avenue apartment complex.

The man dropped the rifle and complied with the officers commands as he investigated the reports of shots fired. Jafet Centeno, 19, of Manchester, was identified and searched. He had a loaded rifle magazine in his pocket as well as the .22 caliber rifle by his side.

A name search revealed he was a convicted felon, so he was arrested and charged with reckless conduct, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and violation of bail conditions.  Centeno appeared in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on October 19, 2017.
