MANCHESTER, NH – Police arrested Calvin Degreenia, 32, a homeless man, on March 20, after an attempted theft from a furniture truck on Beech Street. Degreenia later confessed to a burglary and theft at Mint Bistro earlier this week, which was widely circulated via social media.

According to police, at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to 542 Beech St. for a reported attempted theft from a Bob’s Furniture delivery truck. Degreenia was being detained by the delivery driver when police arrived. Degreenia admitted to the attempted theft and was taken into custody. During a search, police discovered he was in possession of a taser. They further learned that Degreenia was a convicted felon, and thereby unauthorized to be in possession of a weapon.

Responding officers recognized Degreenia from surveillance footage that had been circulated on social media by Mint Bistro owner Tim Baines related to a burglary at the restaurant on March 19. After completing the booking process, Degreenia agreed to speak with detectives regarding the burglary. Degreenia confessed to the burglary at Mint during the interview.
