MANCHESTER, NH – All is quiet again on Hayward Street where, just three days ago, it was the epicenter of law enforcement activity. Investigators swarmed a modest house in this otherwise quiet neighborhood for evidence that might finally solve a 35-year-old crime.

“We expect an update in about a week,” said Assistant Attorney General Jeffery Strelzin, when asked Friday what conclusions had come from the intensive search of 925 Hayward St.

That is the last known address of Denise Beaudin, who vanished 35 years ago.

According to her family, Beaudin and her boyfriend, Robert “Bob” Evans, spent Thanksgiving at her family home in Goffstown on November 26, 1981. Neither mentioned that they were leaving the area at that time. Less than a week later, on December 1, 1981, Beaudin’s family went to visit her at the Hayward Street address. When they arrived, there was no sign of the couple.

Beaudin’s family said the two were struggling financially, and they assumed the couple left to avoid debts.

No missing persons report was ever filed for her.

However, just after Christmas in 2016 authorities announced that new information had come to light regarding Beaudin’s disappearance, and based on that information, her name was entered into the FBI’s National Crime Information Center database. That information then becomes available to any law enforcement agency around the country, and allows such agencies to take action when warranted, including bringing charges against someone, or making an arrest.

Strelzin said in December that the whereabouts of Beaudin’s boyfriend, Evans, were known to law enforcement, but he declined to elaborate further. No other information has been released about what detectives were searching for at the Hayward Street property.
