MANCHESTER, NH — A malfunctioning heating unit caused a fire Saturday at 385 Union St., but a quick response by Manchester Fire Department kept damage to a minimum.
The fire call came in just before 11 a.m. on Dec. 10 at the three-story unit which has a storefront on the first-floor on the Union Street side.
Companies arrived to find fire and smoke conditions in the middle rear of building. Fire was contained to the malfunctioning heating unit on the first floor and some exterior fire damage to siding. Fire crews were able to get a quick knockdown of the fire.
No residents were displaced. Damage is estimated at $5,000, according to fire officials.
