MANCHESTER, NH – Local business owner Adam Forand of Kane’s Auto Sales & Service will be honoring five families in need with a special event, Family Service Day: Keeping Cars Kickin‘, a local celebration that is part of a national program designed to help automotive businesses share their expertise and give back to the community.

Screen Shot 2017 05 11 at 10.38.52 PMOn May 13, Kane’s will be providing general automotive maintenance and car-care education at no charge to five pre-selected families in the Manchester community that need help caring for their vehicles. Families are pre-selected and referred by nonprofit partner, Manchester Police Athletic League (MPAL), an agency dedicated to connecting police officers with community youth to foster positive relationships and community connectedness.

“We believe it is part of our responsibility to give back to our community,” Adam Forand, shop owner said. “On May 13, we are donating our facilities and automotive expertise as a way of helping families in our great city of Manchester. Our local business sponsors are also helping to give back by donating supplies, food, and materials for kid’s activities. By sharing our talents and resources, we are providing a ‘hand up’ to families who need the help at this moment. Our goal in hosting a Family Service Day – Keeping Cars Kickin’ event is for families to leave with more reliable transportation and a sense of security that comes from having a better understanding of how their vehicles work.”

The whole community is invited – Kane’s is also celebrating one year in business at its Manchester location. So come on out for fun activities for children including a bouncy house, dunk booth, and games to keep the children entertained while the family car is being serviced. Zoey’s Pizza will provide lunch, and major event sponsor St. Mary’s Bank will provide refreshments. Local business sponsors include Bond/O’Reilly Auto Parts, and AutoZone.
