SCARBOROUGH, ME – New Hampshire Fisher Cats Second Baseman Santiago Espinal was named to the Eastern League Full-Season All-Star Team on Friday.

With New Hampshire this year, Espinal has a slash line of .278/.381/.725, with 46 runs scored, 21 doubles, 57 RBI, five home runs, 10 stolen bases, 35 walks and a triple in 94 Double-A games.

He was named to the Eastern League All-Star Game at mid-season and was also named Eastern League Player of the Week on April 15. He stole home plate on June 8 to give New Hampshire an extra-innings win and had six RBI and a grand slam in an April 17 win over Binghamton.

Born in the Dominican Republic, the 24-year-ol;d was traded from the Red Sox organization on June 28, 2018 in exchange for eventual 2018 World Series MVP Steve Pearce.

Espinal was called up to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons on Aug. 3, where he has accumulated 16 hits and six RBI in 17 games.
