MANCHESTER, NH – There are those who run from danger, and those who run toward it. In New Hampshire, we know all too well that our first-responders have risen to the challenge of caring for those in critical need, and making sure they get the proper life-saving care prior to transport to a local hospital.

There is always a need for qualified EMTs and Paramedics. New England EMS Institute is now accepting registrations for two upcoming training classes (see class descriptions below). For registration information, log onto www.neemsinstitute.com, or call 603-663-4402.

Paramedic Training

New England EMS Institute Paramedic Training Program begins June 4 on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The paramedic is the highest level of pre-hospital care. Paramedics are trained members of the healthcare community often responsible for bringing life-saving diagnostic and treatments to the patient at the scene of an emergency.

The Paramedic has extensive training in pre-hospital pharmacology, advanced patient assessment, advanced airway and cardiac management, trauma management, and the pathophysiology and management of shock. The scope of practice of the paramedic is rapidly expanding, thus creating a number of new employment opportunities.

Our nationally accredited, 1,200 hour, 16-month long Paramedic Program is maintained and supported by clinically experienced EMS Educators and Paramedics. Our Clinical Coordinator organizes the intensive clinical and field rotations at over 50 hospitals and ALS EMS services across New England.

Graduates of our program are eligible for 34 college credit hours with Granite State College or 35 credit hours with New Hampshire Technical Institute. It is NEEMSI’s goal to prepare entry-level paramedics with the knowledge, practical skills, and behaviors necessary to provide quality patient care.

Our program includes Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, International Trauma Life Support, 12 lead ECG interpretation, capnography, and the latest New Hampshire Transition Modules.

Students who successfully complete our paramedic program are eligible to take the National Registry of EMTs examination and subsequently apply for state licensure. Our program is approved by both the New Hampshire and Massachusetts state EMS offices and we are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. Prerequisite: Current certification at the EMTBasic level or higher. NREMT Fee Duration: Sixteen months (1,200 hours). Tuition: $10,500.

EMT Training

Classes now forming for the New England EMS Institute Paramedic Program, which will be held Mondays and Wednesdays, starting May 7 through August 29, 2018 from 6 to 10 p.m.

The primary focus of the Emergency MedicalTechnician is to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system.

This individual possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. Emergency Medical Technicians perform interventions with the basic equipment typically found on an ambulance. The Emergency Medical Technician is a link from the scene to the emergency health care system.

Educational Requirements: One of the eligibility requirements for licensure at this level requires successful completion of an accredited Emergency MedicalTechnician course. Students who successfully complete this program are eligible to take the National Registry exam and subsequently apply for state licensure. The tuition is $750 plus fees.
