MANCHESTER, NH – Bob’s Discount Furniture outreach staff visited Elliot Health System on November 28 to read to children as part of Bob’s year-long partnership with “Reach Out and Read,” a literacy program for children.
Dressed up as the Cat in the Hat, Bob’s outreach team members Sharon Vallee and Cathy Poulin read the story, “Oh, the Things You Can Do that are Good for You!” by, Tish Rabe, to the children who are part of Elliot Child Care Center.
Bob’s outreach team was joined by a face painter for the event. They also donated 100 copies of Rabe’s book, as well as 100 “Cat in the Hat” character hats, and 100 Bob’s Discount Furniture blankets. Bob’s partnered with Reach Out and Read to create the year-long “Rocking the Road to Read with Bob’s Outreach,” to increase early literacy by bringing smiles and books to local children.
