Fairpoint exec Ellen Scarponi joins NH High Tech Council Board

MANCHESTER, NH– Ellen G. Scarponi, Director of Government Relations and Economic Development at FairPoint Communications, has joined the NH High Tech Council’s board of directors.  She brings more than 30 years of experience in telecommunications, technology and financial services to the board, which is charged with directing the long term vision and strategy for the high tech organization.

“I am looking forward to sharing my experience in telecommunications, while working closely with community, regional, and state economic development organizations to support and nurture the technology ecosystem in New Hampshire,” Scarponi said.

Scarponi’s past work in telecommunications technology demonstrates her understanding of its importance to New Hampshire and beyond. As the former director of sales and district manager for AT&T in northern New England and Rhode Island, she was responsible for voice and data networking and e-commerce, two areas that continue to be at the forefront of the high tech sector.  She also has extensive business development and customer service experience, including being owner and manager of the first Dream Dinners franchise in New Hampshire.

Scarponi is an appointed member of the NH Telecommunications Planning and Development Advisory Council, a member of the NH Humanities Council and Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce boards of directors, and an active participant on the Greater Concord, Manchester and Nashua Chambers of Commerce Legislative Committees, as well as the BIA Energy & Telecommunications and Economic Development & Fiscal Policy Committees.  She and her husband, Bob, live in Canterbury.
