MANCHESTER, NHJoyce Craig has officially made her bid to unseat Mayor Ted Gatsas as Mayor of Manchester, arriving at City Hall with her family to file her candidacy. She was among 20 people who added their names to the list of candidates for the upcoming Municipal Election.

Craig ran against Gatsas in the 2015 election, falling short after a recount, by 64 votes.

“I’m running for Mayor of Manchester to make our city a better place for all residents. The past couple of weeks have underscored the importance of competent leadership at City Hall,” said Craig in a statement released shortly after filing.

“We need a proactive mayor to address our challenges, support our schools, combat the opioid crisis, and move Manchester forward. Manchester has endless potential and I’m running for mayor to make sure we achieve all that is possible.”

Craig recently completed a ‘12 Wards in 12 Days’ listening tour of the city, to hear from residents about concerns ranging from the opioid crisis, to job prospects, the quality of schools, to street cleanups, according to her campaign manager.

Also signing on for office today was Will Stewart, who announced his intention to run for Ward 2 Alderman, and former Alderman Armand D. Forest.

There’s still time to get in on the race:
