MANCHESTER, NH – John Cataldo is running for Ward 8 Alderman. He is one of three candidates on the ballot, joining Ed Sapienza and Betsi DeVries. He has submitted his candidate statement, below:

“I am running for Ward 8 Alderman because I love the city of Manchester, and I would like to give back to the city that has given me so much by helping it to flourish. As a longtime Manchester resident, I attended Trinity High School and Saint Anselm College, where I studied biology and graduated with honors in 2008.

“Throughout high school and college, I participated in community service programs believing in the importance of community involvement. It was this foundation which motivated me to devote my first year after college to service by mentoring at-risk youth at the St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Montana.

“When I returned home to Manchester, I began working at the Elliot Hospital and the Manchester Community Health Center. The time I spent there solidified my belief that it is the many diverse and vibrant communities within the city that make Manchester so special.

“Now, I work as the quality control manager at Great North Aleworks here in Manchester. My wife, Gabby, and I are proud parents of two daughters. With my background in quality control and community service, I will be a proactive leader getting out ahead of issues before they affect Manchester residents, and I will work to advance Manchester. My commitment to the responsibilities of the job, education of our children, fiscal responsibility, and safety of every individual will be unmatched.

“Most importantly, through my extensive service and leadership background, I have learned always to listen first to those I am serving. By listening to the citizens of Manchester, I will constantly have your best interests at heart, and truly be your representative voice.”
