MANCHESTER, NH — The Dana Center, a world-class performing arts venue on the campus of Saint Anselm College, is proud to present Eileen Ivers & Her Amazing Celtic Band, in An Nollaig: An Irish Christmas, on Friday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Back by popular demand, Eileen Ivers is acclaimed as one of the paramount innovators in the Celtic and World music genres. A true pioneer, her work is so daringly imaginative and clearly virtuosic that it alters the medium.

As a multi-faceted and internationally honored genius on the violin, Eileen Ivers has spent her sustained and highly praised career re-inventing and re-invigorating Celtic music in all its forms. It has been said that the task of respectfully exploring the traditions and progression of the Celtic fiddle is quite literally on Eileen Ivers’ shoulders.

Grammy awarded and Emmy nominated, this daughter of Irish immigrants has played with London Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, Sting and Patti Smith, was an original Musical Star of Riverdance, a founding member of Cherish the Ladies, nine-time All-Ireland Fiddle Champion, wrote for the Gangs of New York movie soundtrack and has performed for Presidents and Royalty worldwide. Eileen Ivers has certainly established herself as the preeminent champion of the Irish fiddle in the world today.

Eileen Ivers & Her Amazing Celtic Band

WHO: The daughter of Irish immigrants, Eileen Ivers grew up in the culturally diverse neighborhood of the Bronx, New York. Rooted in Irish traditional music since the age of eight, Eileen proceeded to win nine All-Ireland fiddle championships, a tenth on tenor banjo and over 30 championship medals, making her one of the most awarded persons ever to compete in these prestigious competitions.
