MANCHESTER, NHEd Sapienza has announced he will again run for a seat at the Alderman’s table in the upcoming municipal election – specifically, the Ward 8 seat.

Sapienza ran in 2015, losing to Thomas Katsiantonis by a margin of 221 votes. Katisiantonis, who is under investigation for theft and tax-evasion charges connected to his businesses, last week said he would not be seeking reelection.

Sapienza said he’s taken the high-road when it comes to Katsiantonis’ legal issues, and refrained from commenting, adding that he wishes his former opponent well.

Sapienza describes himself simply as a  “veteran and working-class guy,” who is also known for speaking his mind via a local cable talk show he hosts with Alderman at-Large Joseph Levasseur, “The Ed & Joe Show,” where they often dig in to local politics.

Sapienza also organized a Candidate Karaoke competition in 2015 at Spare Time bowling alley, prior to the election, as a fun yet competitive way of breaking the ice between candidates.

His brother, Alderman Tony Sapienza, represents Ward 5.
