Drug sting results in 2 arrests, seizure of $135K in fentanyl and $1,100 in cash

MANCHESTER, NH — Members of the Manchester Police Special Enforcement Division completed a search warrant yesterday, which resulted in two arrests and the seizure of a large quantity of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $135,000, cutting agents and over $1,100 in cash.

Investigators executed the search warrant at 302 Merrimack St. at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday after a long investigation into the residents of the Merrimack Street address for the distribution of illegal drugs, specifically fentanyl and crack cocaine.

Detectives located and arrested Rafael Pepen, 51, and Melvin Martinez, 47, years of age, both of Manchester, inside of the residence. The investigators seized drugs, cutting agents and cash inside of the second-floor apartment.

Pepen was charged with sale of a controlled drug and possession of controlled drug with intent to distribute. Martinez was charged with conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.

Both men were scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on January 17, 2019.
