Driver suffers serious injury in early morning crash on DW Highway

MERRIMACK, NH – On Sunday, August 06, 2017 at approximately 2:18 a.m. the Merrimack Police Department attempted to stop a blue 2014 Toyota Camry in the area of Industrial Drive and Daniel Webster Highway.  The vehicle was traveling northbound on Daniel Webster Highway without its lights on.  The vehicle fled at an extremely high rate of speed causing the officer to lose sight of the vehicle at which point the pursuit was discontinued.  Minutes later members of the Merrimack Police Departments came a cross the vehicle as it had crashed in the area of 370 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack.

As a result of this collision, the male operator and sole occupant of the vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries.  The operator was flown to Tufts Medical Center by the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART).  

Assisting on scene were members of the Merrimack Police Department, New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks, Merrimack DPW, DHART Critical Care Medical Flight Crew, and Merrimack Fire & Rescue & EMS Crews.  

The crash investigation is being handled by the State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit (C.A.R.
