BEDFORD, NH — A Litchfield man is dead and his passenger seriously injured following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday on the Everett Turnpike.

According to NH State Police an accident was reported April 12 at 4:45 p.m. Troopers from the State Police Troop B Barracks in Bedford responded to the scene, where two victims, identified as John Borrun, 47, of Litchfield, and Sarah Deering, 22, of Auburn, were being assisted by other motorists who stopped to help until the Bedford Fire Department arrived and began treating them.

Two witnesses who observed the accident reported to police seeing a Chevrolet Avalanche traveling at a high rate of speed weaving around slower traffic as it proceeded onto the off ramp. The witnesses told police that the driver, identified as Borrun, lost control, driving off the left side of the roadway, and the vehicle rolled over, ejecting both occupants.

The two were transported to  Elliot Hospital in Manchester where Borrun succumbed to his injuries.

State Police were assisted at the scene by members of the State Police Collision Analysis Unit, the Bedford Fire Department and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Trooper Geoffrey Rogan at 603-223-8933.
