Driver identified in Mast Road crash, charged with OUI

MANCHESTER, NH – Stephen Hyde, 60, of Kelley Street, Manchester, has been charged with operating under the influence following a crash on Mast Road late Monday night.

Police say Hyde was driving on Mast Road just after 10 p.m. on may 18 when his 2010 Dodge Journey struck a utility pole north of Hamburg Street, causing serious damage to both the pole and his vehicle. Hyde was injured in the crash and taken to the Elliot Hospital for serious but non life-threatening injuries.

Hyde was booked in absentia from his hospital bed and released on $2,000 personal recognizance. He remained hospitalized due to his injuries. He is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court on at a date to be determined.
