Manchester PD LogoAt about 10: 15 a.m. on Sept. 30 police say Holly Jubrey, 60, of Manchester was driving west on Varney Street when she reportedly became distracted by one of her two dogs, and crashed her  van into two utility poles. PSNH came out to temporarily disconnect power, so she and her dogs could be pulled from the vehicle.

Initial reports indicate speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.

Jubrey was treated at a local hospital for neck pain. Her two dogs were removed from the scene by animal control officers.

Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH) and FairPoint crews responded to the scene where there were reports of live wires, causing a disruption to traffic flow and loss of power to the area.

Police say Varney Street will  likely be shut down for the remainder of the day while emergency crews replace two telephone poles and reconnect power.

The investigation is ongoing, so it is unknown if the driver will be cited for any motor vehicle infraction or violation.
