Distracted driving: Nashua woman, 5-year-old, survive I-93 crash in Bow

BOW, NH – A Nashua woman and her 5-year-old passenger were treated at Concord Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries after their 1998 Toyota Corolla crashed into the tree line approximately 100 feet off the roadway on I-93 North in Bow at approximately 7:55 p.m. on March 1.

An investigation revealed that the driver, Paige Corriveau, 27, of Nashua, was using a mobile electronic device at the time of the crash in violation of NH RSA 265:79-c.

The vehicle was totaled.

Prior to the collision, troopers and local officers were on the lookout for Corriveau’s vehicle after receiving a witness report it was being driven erratically.

New Hampshire law prohibits drivers from using anything other than hands-free devices while driving, including during stops at traffic lights. Any person who violates this law shall be guilty of a violation and shall be fined $100 plus penalty assessment for a first offense; $250 plus penalty assessment for a second offense; and $500 plus penalty assessment for any subsequent offense within a 24-month period. Corriveau’s condition was not immediately known. The identity of the child was not released by State Police.
