MANCHESTER, N.H. – The New Hampshire Fisher Cats arrived back in the Granite State with a 7-0 victory over the Akron Rubber Ducks on Tuesday night.

New Hampshire’s Justin Dillon was dominant, giving up just two hits over six innings on the mound, with Vinny Nittoli and Dany Jimenez combining to allow just one more in relief.

That pitching effort meant not much offense was required, but the Fisher Cats felt like scoring some runs anyway, highlighted by Kevin Smith’s three-run homer in the fifth.

Smith added an RBI double in the seventh, bringing in Josh Palacios, with Palacios’ single bringing in Nash Knight earlier in the seventh.

Forrest Wall also provided an RBI single in the eighth.

New Hampshire also benefited from three errors, with one allowing Brock Lundquist to reach in the second as Riley Adams came across for the Fisher Cats’ first run.

The Fisher Cats ended with 12 hits in total, with Smith and Palacios both going 3-for-4, with Lundquist also adding a pair of hits.

Both teams return to Northeast Delta Dental Stadium on Tuesday for a 7:05 p.m. tilt. New Hampshire sends Joey Murray (0-1, 5.14 ERA) to the mound against Akron’s Sam Hentges (1-10, 5.21 ERA).
