Derry police say car stolen from Bypass 28 homicide scene where home was destroyed by fire

DERRY, NH — Police in Derry are looking for a vehicle stolen from the driveway of a home on Bypass 28, the scene of a homicide investigation in which the home was destroyed earlier this week in an explosion and fire.

The vehicle, a 2005 white Mercury Montego with NH registration 4617439, was stolen from 151 ByPass 28. Police say the vehicle was last seen on or about August 21, 2019.

On Aug. 10 Derry Police responded to a 911 call placed at approximately 12:03 a.m. by Roderick Munstis who told police he had shot his wife. Responding officers discovered Ellen Munstis dead from gunshot wounds. On Aug. 26 the home was gutted in a suspicious fire which is still being jointly investigated by the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Derry Police Department. 

Police Captain Vern Thomas said there is no indication that the stolen vehicle is connected to the homicide in any way.
