Democratic Party announces awards for local residents

CONCORD, N.H. – Manchester residents Robert Raiche, Pam Jorgensen, Don Jorgensen and Goffstown resident Kelly Boyer will be honored for their accomplishments, with the New Hampshire Democratic Party announcing on Tuesday that the four will receive awards.

Raiche was named as the Eleanor and Franklin D. Roosevelt Award winner, given each year to a New Hampshire Democrat who has demonstrated outstanding efforts in fighting for social and economic justice.

The Jorgensens were named as the Chris Pappas Grassroots Leader Award winners. Previously known as the Carol Shea-Porter Grassroots Leader Award in honor of the former Congresswoman, the newly renamed the Chris Pappas Grassroots Leader Award, is presented to a deserving Democrat from New Hampshire’s First Congressional District who embodies what it means to be a grassroots leader in their community, and who has dedicated years of exemplary service to the Democratic Party and their community.’

Boyer was named as the Emerging Leader Award winner. Established in 2016, the Emerging Leader Award honors an outstanding New Hampshire young leader for their dedicated work that strengthens communities, celebrates diversity, and engages young people in the Democratic Party.

All three awards and others will be presented at the Eleanor Roosevelt Award Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord.
