MANCHESTER, NH — Two hot water pipes burst inside Jewett Street School causing flooding inside the building and giving students an unexpected day off.

A notification went out early Monday morning via Nixle followed by a general announcement from the school district explaining there was “significant damage” to the library, gymnasium, administrative office and six to seven classrooms. Servpro was already at the school building doing clean-up as of 8 a.m.

Teacher were notified via email that they were to report for work, sent to various other locations for professional development. Paraprofessionals from Jewett were reassigned to work with students at other schools.
